Journey Seminars was founded in 1996 by Kevin Stewart after he recognized the need to reach people he was counseling in more effective ways. Since then, Kevin and his staff have helped hundreds of graduates attain new levels of personal fulfillment and reward.
What’s Different About Journey
Many have developed self-improvement courses over the years with varying degrees of success. Journey is different. Here’s why.
Listening alone is not the most effective method to help people develop new strategies for dealing with life. Life change normally does not occur within the confines of an academic setting. That is the limitation with tapes, videos, sermons and lectures. Journey Seminars provide interactive and experiential processes, which evoke strong emotions within a safe environment. Deep experiences coupled with new perspectives give our graduates new strategies and choices for improving their lives.
Talking to counselors is a good way to process many things, however Journey uses completely different processes to reach certain goals more quickly. You don’t have to reveal all your deepest secrets to anyone to succeed in Journey.
Learning from your own experiences in the real world is a great place to learn, but all too often we don’t come up with the best solution on our own. This approach has gotten us this far in life. Journey takes you the rest of the way.
Journey learning experiences are consistent with Christian theology and modern psychology. God meant for everyone to experience joy, peace and fulfillment.
Core Philosophy
As a child, you started life with the potential to be anything you wanted to be. You could be incredibly successful and totally happy in your life.
But early on, things begin to happen that limit both your potential and your ability to enjoy and succeed at life. Parenting styles pass on weaknesses and limitations that damage one’s core being. Other experiences such as embarrassment, failure, people letting us down, loss or tragedy have the ability to permanently scar a person deep inside and close them off to their full inner potential. In order to cope with these events, belief patterns and behavior are developed that limit who we can be. We then build walls to protect ourselves and keep the people and events that hurt us out.
The walls we build to protect ourselves eventually lock our real self and real potential inside.
What Journey Does
In Journey, we help you identify these walls and tear them down. We go to the original source of the walls and help you to overcome them or heal from their hold on your life. We help you to overcome limitations that keep you from greater success at work, enhanced intimacy in relationships and overall enjoyment of life.
The processes we use at Journey help you get down to a deep emotional and spiritual level within yourself. Once we get that deep, we are able to help you experience emotional healing and empowering energy that is life changing. Marriages have been saved, people have found greater success at their jobs, some have overcome addictions, nearly all have increased self-confidence and self-esteem and some have even been able to get off antidepressants through their experiential learning at Journey Seminars.
